February Highlights


Religion: The students are just finishing with their unit on the Sacraments of Initiation. They will now begin an in depth study of the Eucharist and how Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition help us become closer to God.

Reading: The students are continuing to work on skill lessons utilizing the stories in “ My World and Yours”. They will understand an author’s viewpoint as well as fact and opinion. Later in the month we will review our key skills in anticipation of the Terra Nova tests.

Science: With yet another wonderfully successful Science exposition behind us for the school year the students will resume their study of environment and adaptation. Here we will learn how all living things make changes to survive.

Language Arts: The students will be working on writing stories and persuasive scripts for an informercial/commercial.

Math: The students will start working on operations with whole numbers, mixed numbers, and fractions before reviewing for the Terra Nova Tests.

Social Studies: The students will begin to analyze Jamestown and English colonies. They will begin to see the mistakes and the success some colonies had.
