January Highlights

7^th Social Studies: the students will begin lessons on African slavery in American colonies.

7^th Science: The students are continuing with their unit on motion. All the science fair projects are complete and the students will begin peer review and presentations shortly before the actual Science Fair.  

7^th English:  The students will be reviewing their prepositions. Also, they will be learning poetry concerning oceans the last week of January into February and constructing concrete poems on the oceans.

7^th Math: The students will be finishing up performing operations with fractions.  Then it’s time to dive into the ocean and explore scales, areas, perimeters, surface area, volume, number systems, squaring/square rooting, and percents. 

7^th Reading: The students will analyze cause and effect relationships through a series of stories. 

7^th Religion: The students will continue studying from their Blest Are We textbooks.  

7^th Art: A new group of students will be learning basic art classes.
