Teacher: Ms. Bunker January
Highlights During the month of January, all 7th grade students will be preparing for “A Walk Through American History” during Catholic Schools Week. In
Social Studies, the seventh graders will be study the importance of
memorializing the heroes of the 20th Century.
They will explore different events and people that have been memorialized
and then create their own 20th Century Memorial.
The 20th Century has given us so many Americans that work for peace and justice in the Kingdom on Earth. In Religion, the seventh graders will take a closer look at some of these disciples of Christ and how they too can be Good Samaritans. In
Reading,
we
must find out how Buttercup’s story ends.
The
seventh graders will continue reading the 20th Century novel, The
Princess Bride. After viewing
the film, they will consider how the story of Buttercup and Westley could be
adapted for the year 2007.
In
Math, we will be working on our Catholic School’s Week Unit where we will be
dealing with family based mathematics through the century.
In Science, the students are learning about the digestive system. The students
are also working diligently on their science fair projects. In English, the students completed the Review of Literature and Reference List
sections of the Science Fair research book during December and will discover the
importance and influence of American History on writing and composition as it
encompasses our many acquired skills through hands-on experiences during our
January Journey. This page was last edited on Wednesday, January 09, 2008. |
