Hi, I’m Laura Brewer the First Grade teacher here at Saint Maria Goretti School.  I’ve been teaching here since 1976, before coming here I worked in River Grove and in Elmhurst.  I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Northern Illinois University in 1974.  I hope to instill in my students a love of leaning by making our classroom an enjoyable place to discover the wonders of learning.  We share our talents and feelings, where we try to be the best we can be.  We learn to work together, play together and support each other.  We develop our “study skills” to help us as we grow and move on.  This year I hope to have some exciting fieldtrips, add new “hands on” lessons in our classes, and work on our “Open House” projects. 

When I’m not in school I enjoy cheering on the Chicago Bears, and Cubs, spending time with my family, reading, working jigsaw puzzles, and scrap booking.  I collect teddy bears, my favorite being Pandas, and I enjoy visiting Disney World.

I’m looking forward to another fun filled year at St. Maria Goretti.
