Stacy Hemmer graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and a concentration in Psychology.  She is the third grade teacher at St. Maria Goretti School for her second year.

Stacy believes in creating a classroom atmosphere that allows each child to reach his or her potential.  She uses a variety of teaching strategies to assist with that.  She truly enjoys hands on activities where the children can work in small groups.  This allows for academic learning to take place, as well as socialization skills to develop.  This year she is looking forward to getting to know her new class.  She is also excited about teaming up with the second and fourth grade classes to do a unit on the human body and nutrition.  This unit will culminate with a fascinating field trip to see Bodyiology, which is an amazing health and body musical.

When Stacy is not in the classroom, she likes to relax at home with her husband and two cats.  She enjoys watching movies and reading a book by her favorite author, Nicolas Sparks.
