Hi, my name is Mrs. Schreiner.  I work in the library at SMG School.  I have been with the school since September 9^th of 1996.  That means I have been doing projects and reading stories to students of SMG for 11 years.  It is so much fun reading to everyone and getting them interested in books.  I love to see the students flow from Dr. Suess to books like Harry Potter and Chicken Soup for the Teenage Soul.

I believe that if you can read, you can teach yourself anything.  Being able to read will take you very far in your life.  I am inspired by people who have creative thoughts and then make them come to life.  I guess that’s why I like books so much.  Authors think of things and then make them come alive through their words and ideas.  They take us to places we might not ever be able to go.

If you guessed my favorite hobby is reading, you would be 100% correct.  This summer I read a total of 5318 pages.  I really feel that I have accomplished so much by reading.  My mind has so many new ideas now.  Maybe we can share our thoughts with each other during the new school year, as I am sure you have read over the summer too.  I can’t wait to hear about the books you have read.  I am always open for a book review by a student.  It would be so nice to hear what you think of some of those books.  Just let me know if you read a great book or even a book you didn’t like so much.
