Carolyn Thomas is the second grade teacher at St. Maria Goretti School.  Carolyn has been teaching for four years.  This is her second year in second grade at St. Maria Goretti School.  Carolyn received her bachelor degree in Elementary Education from Illinois State University.  Carolyn is currently attending Northeastern Illinois University for her Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education.

Carolyn’s philosophy on teaching is to teach her students how to live this life on Earth, to face its struggles and its trouble and improve their self worth.  Carolyn’s inspiration comes from her student’s desire to learn.  Carolyn’s favorite author is James Patterson.

Something Carolyn will do with her students is nutrition with the body. The second, third and fourth grades will work together on a nutrition unit with a fun-filled field trip.
