St. Maria Goretti School boasts of an outstanding administration and staff. Excellent, certified faculty members, several of whom hold Masters Degrees, instruct students in a loving and caring environment. Safety of the children is a priority of this administration. An intercom buzzer system is used for admitting visitors into the building and a crisis management program is in place. “Rainbows for all God’s Children” is a program for children of divorce/death, which is held after school each week. Students receive daily Religion instructions. A sense of peace and justice permeates curriculum discussions. Active participation in several liturgies and prayer services throughout the year, prepares students to carry on the stewardship necessary for our future church. PhysicallyEach week students, Pre-Kindergarten through 8th grade, have gym class. A quality physical education instructor teaches physical fitness, at age-appropriate levels. Students are given daily outdoor recess, and the choice of purchasing the Archdiocesan Hot Lunch Program each day. Socially
Students at St. Maria Goretti School participate in several extracurricular clubs and organizations: student council, National Junior Beta Club (honor roll club), scouting, band, and the sports program. Many activities, projects, and events are initiated by these organizations for St. Maria Goretti students. Several of our clubs also reach-out to actively involved students from other local schools as well. Competitive Sports ProgramTo offer students positive social interaction, as well as to develop the skills and discipline necessary for team sports, the Athletic Association has designed our St. Maria Goretti Sports Program. Students in grades 5-8 may participate in volleyball and basketball. Both boys and girls have the opportunity to play competitively in league games.
